As part of any warehousing solution provided by Exalt Fulfilment, a customer may opt to have one or more of their products being made up of a number of different items sold together as a group or kit.

Exalt is able to handle this requirement in 2 different ways. Firstly through the experience and systems capability in the Fulfilment division kits can be built on an adhoc basis. This means stock remains at individual item level and a kit is built only at this time it is ordered or required.

The other method utilised is the process of bulk kitting. Where an item will be sold as a completed kit on a regular basis, it becomes more cost effective to pre-build and assemble kits. This process is completed through the Kitting and Assembly division due to its capability and ability to deliver lower costs on higher volumes of assembly.

Warehouse Kitting Benefits

Both warehouse kitting methods provide individual benefits. Kitting at the stage of a product being required ensures inventory is not handled unless needed, and reduce both the inventory holding required and potentially the storage footprint.

Pre-kitting or Assembling delivers a lower associated cost due to the bulk process, but inventory can be tied up in kits when needed to be accessed individually.
